Dire Straits - 1979 - Vintage Promo Pin

Vintage 1979 Dire Straits Communiqué promotional pinback badge featuring the artwork from their second studio album.

Dire Straits' second album, Communiqué, released in 1979, solidified the band's commercial breakthrough and critical acclaim following their debut's success. Building on the stripped-down rock foundation of their first record, Communiqué showcased Mark Knopfler's masterful guitar work and introspective songwriting, featuring the hit single "Lady You Bring Me Down" and the instrumental showcase "Sultans of Swing (Live)." The album reached the top 5 on UK and US charts, establishing Dire Straits as major players in the rock landscape and setting the stage for their later stadium dominance. With its blend of blues-rock sensibility and sophisticated production, Communiqué remains a landmark release that defined the band's artistic identity.
